Best ways of Hydration

In addition to quenching your thirst, being hydrated will keep you feeling energised and active throughout the day. It's also vital to remember that being hydrated is just as critical in the winter as it is in the summer. The good news is that there are numerous tasty and healthful drinks that make fantastic substitutes for a simple glass of water and satisfy your thirst just as well. Along with a flurry of flavours, these hydrating drinks provide a tonne of electrolytes, sodium, vitamins, probiotics, and minerals.

Ways of Hydration

The different ways are-

1. Green Smoothie

Your favourite greens may be blended into a naturally water-rich smoothie for the ideal post-workout breakfast or nutrient-rich mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Gathering leafy greens with a high water content, like spinach, kale, and lettuce, is what Amanda Sauceda, M.S., R.D., suggests doing first. Then, combine your preferred milk—cow, almond, cashew, or oat—and top with a scoop of protein powder and/or nut butter for added substance. In one glass, you'll receive a potent one-two punch of protein and hydration.

2. Coconut water

Coconut water is a natural source of electrolytes including sodium, potassium, and manganese, says Hayley Miller, M.S., RDN, L.D., senior registered dietitian nutritionist at Persona. You can buy a litre at the grocery store or buy a fresh one at the beach. We all need to routinely replenish these electrolytes, especially after any excessive fluid loss (severe sweating, dehydration during a Saturday night, etc.). She says that when you exercise or simply go about your everyday activities, you naturally lose electrolytes in your perspiration, which makes it more difficult for your body to retain water. Coconut can be used to replace these and reestablish a healthy balance.

3. Aloe Water

Aloe is sometimes used topically as a hydrating beverage, but it can also be consumed internally as a folk cure for sunburns! It is one of the finest ways to increase your hydration because it is low in sugar and calories while being high in antioxidants and vitamin C. Be careful though, as this plant is quite good at curing constipation. If you're losing water from the other end, adding too much aloe vera gel could have the opposite effect and make you even more dehydrated. Take a slice or two of the fresh inner aloe gel to begin. Then, just blend it with some water.

4. Chia Seeds

Chia seeds can hold up to 12 times their weight in water, did you know that? Naturally, if you want to increase your hydration, this makes them one of the best nutrient-dense additions to any beverage. Additionally, they are nutrient-rich and high in fibre, plant-based protein, and minerals like magnesium, iron, calcium, zinc, and B vitamins. Simply soak 1 tbsp of chia seeds in 12 oz of water to create chia seed water. Add whatever extra ingredients you choose, such fruit, mint, or lemon juice. After that, wait 15 to 30 minutes before drinking!

The Bottom Line

Trying to find the finest beverage to prevent dehydration? It turns out that there are numerous ways to replenish the electrolytes and water in your body. These solutions can make you feel better whether you're seeking for post-workout replenishment or attempting to keep your body hydrated while suffering from the stomach bug.
